Hear It From Me
Firstly, thank you for reading my blog page!
I am the author of The House Beneath the Oak Trees, my debut novel which I self published in December 2017. It's been a long, hard road to get my book published but one which I would not change for the world. I'll be sharing my experiences of writing my novel with you all, from the parts that made me cry in frustration to the times I squealed with delight.
I found the inspiration for The House Beneath the Oak Trees on a wintery weekend retreat to celebrate my sisters 30th birthday back in 2016. Convincing ourselves that our place of residence was haunted when we thought we saw cupboard doors mysteriously opening on their own and heard noises coming from the supposed vacant floor above us, the haunting tale of The House Beneath the Oak Trees was born.
When I'm not writing, you will find me with my head in a book reading as many stories as time will allow. I'm currently reading a mixture of modern fiction and classic literature and am quickly adding new favourites to my Best Of List as I go. When I've finally stepped away from books, I enjoy long countryside walks and trying to fit in planning a wedding in (hopefully) 2019
I'm currently working on my second novel, a powerful psychological thriller, which is due to be released in December 2018.
THE HOUSE BENEATH THE
My debut novel, The House Beneath the Oak Trees is available to buy now!!
Penny couldn’t believe her luck when they first arrived at Oak Tree House, the grand country estate where she would be spending the week to celebrate her sister’s 30th birthday along with her mum and aunt. Guarded by two gigantic oak trees, the empty house stands alone within Oakdene, a quiet and desolate village. She ignores her mischievous aunt as she jokingly tries to convince them that their rented apartment is haunted the moment they step foot inside. Always rational, Penny tries to place logical explanations to unexplainable events that start occurring from the very first day. When these encounters become more and more frequent, and more terrifying, Penny cannot avoid it anymore. Someone, or something, is staying in the apartment with them and Penny needs to find out what it is and more importantly, what it wants from her?
